The prairie dog is not a dog at all, but a little rodent that lives in underground colonies. It got its name because of the barking sounds it makes. This prairie dog forgot all about his guard duties at the sight of food.

Der Präriehund ist gar kein Hund, sondern ein kleines Nagetier, das in unterirdischen Kolonien lebt. Es heißt so, weil es bellt! Dieser Präriehund hat angesichts des Futters seine Pflicht als Wächter ganz vergessen.
